A garden at one of Aspire’s supported accommodation properties has been transformed by Dehns Oxford volunteers, restoring a tranquil green space for our clients.

As the chosen charity of Intellectual Property Law firm Dehns Oxford for 2025-26, Aspire welcomed a group of volunteers to one of its supported properties. Chopping weeds, painting fences, and planting seeds - the volunteers brought a new lease of life to the garden.

As part of its housing service, Aspire provides safe, dignified accommodation to those in need. By clearing out the garden, Dehns have given residents a restful, open space where they can breathe, relax and reflect.

Nicci Marzec, CEO of Aspire Oxford, said: “The team at Dehns Oxford did a fantastic job clearing out the garden. It was great to see the smile on our residents’ faces as they saw the space being transformed. They’ll now have somewhere nice to sit on sunny days and to rest between appointments. It really does make a massive difference.”

Elisabeth Pauli, Trainee Patent Attorney at Dehns Oxford, said: "It was an amazing opportunity for some of our Dehns Oxford-based staff to help our chosen charity Aspire hands-on. Tackling a lawn with over 1m tall grass, painting a 70 sqm fence and removing numerous amounts of weeds was certainly no easy feat, but at the end of the day, to see the difference it made to the residents made it all worth it.  We just hope that the weather holds up for the rest of the summer so that the garden can be enjoyed to its full potential!"

Since launching their partnership with Aspire in February, Dehns Oxford have raised over £800 through in-office events, match-funded by Dehns. Dehns staff have also signed up for running events like the Bristol Inflatables race to raise funds for Aspire.

Aspire Oxford supports over 1,700 people a year through housing services, employment support, and wellbeing programmes. Aspire helps each individual to overcome the barriers they face, so they can learn skills, build resilience, and progress towards a better life.
