Former Aspire Oxfordshire Chair of Trustees, Dr Carol Sweetenham, has been appointed an MBE in the New Year's Honours list for 2025, in recognition of her services in the provision of employment opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Oxfordshire.

Carol led Aspire's Trustee Board after ten years as Chair and an involvement with Aspire going back to its foundation, before moving on to Homeless Oxfordshire to take up a role as their Chair in March 2024.

Carol says of the appointment:

“I’m delighted and honoured to be recognised in this way. It acknowledges not only the great work done by Aspire but the crucial support the homelessness sector provides to some of the most vulnerable people in Oxfordshire day in, day out."
